i did it! went to the doctor with ama today. just the two of us. it was nice! not as scary as i thought. and i think i know why. i can see a change in her now. she is more understanding and engaging now. and she tries to start conversation with me. so i think the barrier between us is broken already. although of course, she would start advising me on stuffs and blablabla...but of course it's all for my own good right? so in conclusion, i love ama more now! yay~ =D
i woke up late at 8.20am... er? which is so late alr! but still ama waited for me to get ready and everything. so in the end, it was 9 plus when we left the house. ama was this patient all along? (= haha. i never knew about it until today only. haix. all those bad impressions, i always had on her, are to be erased away as of today onwards. maybe last time i didn't know her well enough, so i relied on mum for things regarding ama. (which might not be true always) and most probably, tt's how i get the wrong idea of ama last time.
she was supposed to go see 2 doctors (who she didn't make appointments with) and 1 (called) in the afternoon. she said it was on purpose that we go so early in the morning. it's a big difference going in the early hours and going in the peak hours. queuing is one thing. and the availability of the doctor is another. so first, ama did a blood test on the second floor, which is placed so off-placed from the other clinics, beside the Starbucks! after the test, we could immediately go to other doctors, without having to wait for the result to come out. first we came to charles toh clinic. but the test result was not out yet so we couldn't see the doctor as soon as we arrived inside the room. however, ama was told by the nurse to do a glucose level test. and i followed her in. ama took off her top and argh! i regretted going inside! okay. i shall not report on every little detail that i saw today. privacy, peeps! haha. so then she did that finger-prick test, which i feared a lot. the result was excellent! 96 only! i could tell ama was very happy with it because she kept on telling me that it's so unbelievable. well, it is possible, i told myself, because she didn't eat her breakfast this morning. lol! of course the absence of glucose intake will lower the measurement right? =X then after that, we went to another clinic. but the doctor was away for surgery on patient. so we were told to come back 1 hr later by the nurse. she was so nice. (= then we went to the diabetees clinic and it was so empty inside. it turned out that the doctor was away at some country for the chinese new year celebration. he will only be back the day when ama have to go for her china trip. so then, we walked back to charles toh and waited. at last, it was time for ama to go into the room to see the doctor. i went in with her too. the doctor was so friendly. he asked me about myself and what i was and am doing in the near future. when i told him that iw anted to try for medicine, he beamed at me! =D then he began telling me about his nieces who were in melbourne too, doing medicine. but i bet they are all smart people! ah! envy them for having a doctor for an uncle... then he also told me about something which is very positive- singapore is very short of accountants! after we were done with the check-up, ama went on her own to the other clinic (they called me to say that the doctor had returned from the surgery) while i waited for the administrative woman to prescribe me the medicine. took them soooo long! =.= i was so bored. anw, when i came into #15-02, the administration lady told me that ama was inside the room alr. then i waited for a pretty long time too, before she finally came out from the room. i thought she was taking a nap inside -.-, until i asked her later. haha. she laughed at me! eee... so sad. humiliated. but i think ama like to laugh at me today. at my naivity and my big dream to become a great doctor!! )=
okay. back to the topic. after the hospital, we went to eat at lucky plaza food court. i ate chicken rice. (= however the food was not of ama's liking. so she chose sth which she didn't really like. then i went to buy her the kerupuk thingy tt sicim also had at her house tt cny night. but hers tasted much much better than what we bought. tasted like...eew!!! revolting. the worst of today's happening was of ama asking me to swallow the last of that thing into my stomach. i almost vomitted out everything. seriously. it was just not food for me!
next stop was to chinatown. to pick up someone's underwear HUH??! -.- i'm sure you know who you are, right? haha. okay. and in the meanwhile, we spent time to buy keypad lock + look for akong's comb + buy ama's facial soap, etc. it was tiring after sometime. feel like sleeping. finally we got into a taxi to go back home. ama told me the story about her life last time as a teenage girl, which was so different from me now. she said she was not allowed to go out with boys or go out to the movies with her friend until late, even til 10pm. then i realized how lucky i am to be here now in the modern world. we are very social-minded people now. freedom!~ =D thank god for this all!
